The grant from the PNC Foundation, which receives its principal funding from The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. (NYSE: PNC), will allow Pathways, MI to offer individualized assessment and quality improvement support to providers throughout Muskegon, Ottawa, Mason and Kent Counties. Providers are active participants in this process, which allows many of them to make improvements they have considered but were unable to achieve without support.
"The mission of Pathways, MI is consistent with PNC’s longstanding commitment to early childhood education,” said Sean Welsh, PNC regional president for West Michigan, speaking on behalf of The PNC Foundation. “PNC recognizes the critical role that access to high quality early childhood education plays in the lives of area children, their families and ultimately, our economy,”
This grant, which supports the healthy development of young children, also ties to the organization’s Parent and Family Support services. These services work to assure that parents have the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively raise their children, including the ability to communicate and work together with other adults in their children’s lives, including child care provider and educators.
